Mental Health App Developed by Students at Tamanawis Secondary
myEsprit App on Google Play
Sanjana and Astha, grade 11 students from Semiahmoo Secondary have developed an app to support and reduce stigma around it mental health. The intention of the app is to help people gain mental strength by learning to prioritize their own happiness via journaling and other resources. myEsprit is a free app offered in various languages. This year marks the 10th annual event which will include a 20-minute livestream, alongside a drive-thru clothing donation station at Surrey Civic Plaza from 11am–2pm. Donations will go towards the Pacific Community Resource Society. The livestream will feature local teams, partners and other participating city and sports groups. Tune in to watch hockey trick shots, a team jersey competition and other fun activities.

Nominate A Surrey Youth Now Until February 10
City of Surrey and Semiahmoo Rotary Club are accepting nominations for the 11th annual SASSY Awards, which recognize and celebrate young leaders ages 15–21 who exemplify the ideals of Rotary. Award categories include arts and culture leadership, community service, environmental leadership, overcoming adversity, international service, and sports and recreation leadership. Award recipients receive $1,000 plus $500 for a charity of their choice.

Sketching Series: Nature’s Clothesline

Artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to be inspired by sustainable textile creations now on display in the Museum of Surrey Feature Gallery. Each week, 12 pre-registered guests will experience the Nature’s Clothesline exhibit, sketchbook in hand.
