Surrey Steps Up is an annual showcase of the positive impact youth have on the city. Celebrate the amazing young people who are transforming our schools and communities through good deeds, community projects, creating art and more.
There will be a variety of activities listed on the agenda including, keynote speaker Rochelle Prasad, Spark Foundation, “Young People On A Journey To Conquering A Global Pandemic”.

Teen Law Workshop
March 13 | 1–2:30pm
Learn more about a legal career. We will hear from a lawyer, a legal administrative assistant, and a law librarian. This program is for teens ages 13–18.
Teen Medicine Workshop

It’s not too early to start exploring the path to becoming a medical doctor. Hear from a first year UBC Medicine student. This program is for teens ages 13–18.
Teen Skilled Trades Workshop

Did you know you don’t have to go to university to have a successful career? Learn more about a career in the Skilled Trades. This program is for teens ages 13–18.
Online Youth Nights
March 4 | 7pm | Microsoft Teams
The March 4 online youth night focuses on self-care. Through interactive games and fun activities, look at various strategies to take care of yourself. Develop a self-care toolkit—a group of helpful tips and techniques to reduce stress and maintain a sense of wellness. This event is part of the Peer Mentorship Program. All online youth nights are virtual and can be joined from the comfort of your own home.

UBC Geering Up for Teens
Explore Engineering with UBC Undergrad Students
This five-part weekly online series will include workshops on sustainability for our future and robotics. There will also be a recruitment workshop with an officer from the Faculty of Applied Science at UBC. They will give you information about admissions to this program and answer questions after the presentation.
Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon

In partnership with Rungh Magazine, support increasing the representation of women and non-binary artists by participating in this virtual event. Learn to create and edit Wikipedia pages while connecting to others online. No prior knowledge of editing is required, and all are welcome to attend.
