Maria Sharapova

Tennis is one of the most famous sports in the world. Among the Russian professional tennis players, the most popular “star” player is Maria Sharapova (21) who was the former number one woman tennis player in the world.

Maria was born in Nyagan, Soviet Union - a really cold and barren place. Nevertheless, she had an unbelievable ability of playing tennis when she was young. So her father, Yuri Sharapov, decided to raise her as a professional tennis player.

At first, Sharapova did not show her very powerful performances when she was in the junior association. However, she went into the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida to learn playing tennis. Since then, her career way has been successful and straightforward.

Maria Sharapova has once been at the top of the tennis player’s ranking in 2005. She won in the two major games-Wimbledon open and US open-and she became the “tennis princess.” Now, she not only plays tennis, but also has a lot of experiences of being a model and ambassador. She is definitely a successful tennis player in the world who can beat the Guinness record in few years.
