“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”

That’s a lie.

Sticks and stones are variables.

Depending on the size

Depends on whether or not we break.

But words are variables too.

If they are positive, they obviously can’t hurt us.

But when they are negative…

Ugly, fat, disgusting.

These types of words

They can break us.

Words mean more to us

than we would like people to believe.

Cyber Bullying is a big problem in our community. It happens in and out of schools. People at any age can be cyber bullied. Almost 70% of teens these days are cyber bullied and 40% of them are bullied by their own friends. We asked our Safe School Liaison, Meenu, and Mr. Bucci some important questions about cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is a very serious subject and it happens everywhere so we have to stand up and make a stop to it!

“I think most of the cyber-bullying takes place on form spring (face book). You can leave anonymous messages about people.” Says Meenu.

Many kids have a good idea of what bullying is because they can see it happening everyday. Bullies come in all shapes and sizes. Anyone can be a bully if they wanted - even you. Most kids become bullies because they are unhappy about something or just dont know how to get along with other kids. Bullying happens when someone hurts or scares another person on purpose while the person being bullied is having a hard time defending themselves. This is why everyone needs to get involved to help and stop this from happening!
