Guitar Hero: Unleash Your Inner Rockstar!
The interactive video game that swept the nation is just as addicting as everyone says it is. Act like the pros as you strum your way to the top with legendary rock songs by the artists you know and love. With musicians and bands ranging from
As a sixteen year old girl, playing Guitar Hero, let alone video games, wasn't my first priority in life. Contrary to my first thoughts of thinking it was only for nerdy boys, I immediately found it easy to play and, dare I say, fun.
The guitar is customizable with an assortment of decals, easy to hold, and can be set for a righty or lefty. It makes you feel immediately "cool" as you strum to the notes and quickly lift it up to rock out for high scores. As a beginner, the tutorial provides all the information you need to start off and get the hang of syncing your actions with the game.
There are four levels, starting with ‘easy', which gets you going with three fret buttons and a slower speed. The ‘medium' level adds a fourth fret button and ‘hard' adds the fifth. In ‘expert' the speed is increased, triple notes are common, and fast strumming is required. We've seen seven year olds on You Tube mastering Dragon Force, the hardest song in the game, with ease, but it isn't as simple as one may think!
Even though the levels are relatively easy to beat in time, the game will keep you entertained far after being triumphant over the three bosses. With the motivation of five-starring each song and playing co-op career or battle mode with friends, it's a guarantee that you won't get bored too easily. With the virtual money that you earn throughout the game, new characters, outfits, guitars, songs and more can be bought.
The characters will satisfy both boys and girls, as they vary from Slash (Guns N' Roses) to Midori, a Japanese girl with the cutest pigtails. Different outfits and styles let you customize your character even further, adding in your own sense of fashion.
With XBOX 360 and Playstation 3, there are also a number of downloadable songs to play as well. There are technical difficulties that the game is known to have, such as syncing problems - fret buttons not responding or strumming slow or fast, but it's usually easy to deal with.
A game that young kids, teenagers, young adults, and even mom's and dad's can enjoy is truly incredible. So unleash that inner rock star, break the mould, and become a Guitar Hero.
