Known mostly for their hit “Tonight, I Love You”, a song that gained a tonne of radio play as well as the number one spot on the Daily Ten on Much On Demand for awhile, as well as their newest single “Kids“, the Latency have created an awesome first full-length album. It’s packed with great vocals and amazing riffs. There are songs like “Can You Hear Me Call?”, “How’s It Feel”, “Kids” and “Hello” that you can blast and sing-along to at the top of your lungs. Then songs like “Don’t Go” and “Fork In The Road” that are just beautiful.

Colbie Caillat's new album is a breath of fresh air from all the music artists have been putting out recently. She brings back the bubbly, sunshiny mood she had with her first album. Her songs have great lyrics, fun rhythms, and an amazing tone. You can definitely call her music “feel good music”. Her style has been compared to her good friend Jason Mraz. Both artists make music that you picture yourself listening to at the beach or in the car on a sunny day. Despite their amateur and fun appearance, some of her songs have really deep and meaningful undertones.

Although many people are surprised by this, Weezer pre-Beverly Hills was actually a very respected group. After releasing two cult hits in the 90's before going on hiatus, Weezer were poised to make a critical and commercial comeback with their third disc, a self-titled release known by fans as The Green Album. When it finally hit the scene, Green was a commercial success, but received rather lukewarm reception from fans and critics alike. Looking back on it, though, was the reaction towards The Green Album justified, or a simple response to near-insurmountable hype?

Paramore, with previous hit-single producing albums "All We Know Is Falling" and "Riot!", plus their "Summer Tic EP", have a brand new CD in stores today, September 29th. They've named it cleverly "Brand New Eyes", which was originally meant to be a song on the album. Says frontwoman Hayley Williams, "In order for our band to move on to whatever's next — and also us personally, as individuals, in order to grow up — [we needed to start] seeing each other, seeing everything, in a whole new perspective.

The Black-Eyed Peas have produced many songs over the years, but they rarely make it to the top of the charts. Recently, one of their songs has hit it big-time. Boom Boom Pow has been their best-selling song so far. The Beat 94.5 and Virgin 95.3 have played it on their top songs list almost everytime. They showed it to the world on Season 8 of American Idol, and it's been number 1 on iTunes for almost two months. Boom Boom Pow is a new favourite for many pre-teens, and the Black-Eyed Peas had better work hard to come up with a song better then Boom Boom Pow!

With a beautifully smooth and harmonic flow, Blind Pilot's debut album 3 Rounds and A Sound is entirely refreshing and is deserving of our attention. These newcomers are nearly imposssible to find, but nonetheless captivating. Their music is reliant on rich accoustics, that are accompanied by ballad duets. Each song, delivers its own unique sound, while still continuing the flow of the album. It is rare to enjoy every song that is on a CD, but this bands consistancy with producing great music has me humming their tunes off by heart.

It looks like they’ve done it again. Independent record labels Fueled By Ramen and Decay Dance have come together to help another amazing band come out with a phenomenal album. The Cab’s debut album Whisper War is filled with catchy choruses and melodies that you could hmm in your sleep. The vocals on these songs are also quite impressive for this relatively new band.

There are so many bands out there right now that think they’re going to make it big in the music industry, all you need to do is look on websites like myspace to see that. What actually makes a good band though? If one band is a carbon copy of another band, does that make them both good? Is it almost impossible for a band to have an ‘original’ sound now that so many different genres and techniques have been explored already?

Report It! You're not alone. There are always many different ways to cope with problems. We're here to listen.
