 Many times people say why bother with the book when you can just watch the movie? I disagree with those people. The Book Because of Winn-Dixie explains much more than the movie. When you see the movie Because of Winn-dixie you feel like you're watching Opal's every move, well you can not say that for the book. Each page makes you feel as if you're right there as Opal. The authors wonderful description can't be compared with any other book...

 

Halloween has come and gone, but it has left with us a wonderfully creepy story that is enjoyable to read (and read, and re-read) any time of the year. 

Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book is the story of Nobody Owens, a perfectly normal boy - aside from the fact that he lives in a graveyard, that is.

A Mighty Heart, by Mariane Pearl, is the tragic story of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, kidnapped January 23, 2002. The cover reads, "The brave life and death of my husband, Danny Pearl". Chronicalizing the events leading to her husbands murder, A Mighty Heart is also about the brave struggles of Mariane Pearl. Through this heartwrenching story set in Karachi, Pakistan, Pearl courageously sheds light on a dark world.

I can describe Twilight to you in just four simple words: Most Romantic Book Ever. I started reading this book after hearing many good reviews from people around me - including some scoops on main characters/lovers Edward and Bella. The book sounded promising and soon after I started reading, I was mesmerized by the story.

Set in the segregated South, Black Like Me documents one man’s journey to go above and beyond to “get the story”. John Howard Griffin was a privileged white journalist who wanted to discover what it was like to live in the deep south as an African American. Using medication to darken his skin, he set off to Louisiana to discover and experience the truth.

I’m sure all of you have had fast food before at least once in your lives (and if you can honestly say you never did, good for you!), whether it’s at McDonald’s, KFC, Wendy’s, Burger King or Dairy Queen. I’m also sure that most of you know that fast food is not good for you, but what is it about fast food that makes you want to eat it? What can happen from eating fast food? Where does fast food come from?

The acclaimed Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling has come to a close (with the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) but don't despair. There are plenty of other books out there that rival, and in some cases, surpass, the beloved Harry Potter books, and listed below are some of them.
