In The Snow

"Hey!" I shrieked as snow hits me hard in the head- in the form of a snowball. "I'll get you for that!"     I scoop up as much snow as I can carry and pack it into a firm ball shape. I slowly move around my snow wall, eyeing the enemy. With a loud warrior yell, I hurl the snow in his direction. It comes raining down on his head, and I laugh. Heck, I don't just laugh; I snort, I squeal, I giggle, I chuckle and I snicker. Then I roll around in the snow for a while, still laughing all the while. I don't see him coming until he's right above me, grinning. He's holding a big heap of snow- right above my face.

"Hey bro, um, sorry I hit you with snow," I say feebly as the heap of snow is lowered onto my face. A cold mask of snow surrounds my head, and I shake it off. Flakes of it go swirling in all directions, catching the light in the house and shimmering. I stand and look around. The enemy is busy gathering snow. I quickly dive behind the snow wall, but it's too late. He's seen me, and now he knows where I am. I try to shuffle over to the icy flower beds, but he's eyeing me. Then the fighting instinct in me unleashes and next thing I know I'm pelting him with snowballs and they're making his brown hair turn white. He jumps up and tackles me, pushing me deep into the snow until I'm positive I'm going to suffocate. There he leaves me. I hear him getting up, hear him laughing, hear him going inside. The door shuts with a bang and there I am, with my face frozen, stuck in a small pile of snow. I'm angry now, no, furious. I pull my face out of there and grab a big hunk of snow. I pack in into the usual ball shape and raise my eyebrow at the brother. He's staring at me out of the window, grinning evilly. I eye the ball, then him. It's fun watching his facial expression go from, 'Ha ha ha, so lo-o-ong, sucker!' to 'I'm going to run away now!'.

I charge up the porch steps and stop. I couldn't hit him while he's in the house. His face appears again; obviously he's realised this too, because he's doing that evil grin again. Anger courses through me, and revenge is on the tip of my tongue. I shove open the door and ambush my brother, soaking his Spiderman pjs. He's standing there, shivvering and crying, and there I am, grinning evilly and laughing. Pity my mother was behind me the whole time. Pity she didn't care that my brother had ambushed me first. Pity, pity, pity. Mothers never understand! So if anyone asks, thats why I'm not allowed to play in the snow with them after school.
