War in the Sky
Date written:
Oct 22 2009
Lightning rages against the night sky,
The thunder a heartbeat boom, boom, boom.
The heavens are angry,
They're relieving their pain,
Their tears fall in the form of rain.
Clouds gray, invisible in the black of night.
The moon lost, unable to shine its light.
The rain is warm, as it drips onto my skin,
My eyes close trying to understand
Why the sky's heartbeat has began to race,
And why the lightning is the only light in the sun's place
But then I hear the jealousy in the heaven's cries
As it tries to hide the stars from the sun's eyes
The frustrations of the heavens above
Came from the sun and the stars once being in love.
