From Heaven to Hell

The ocean is the sum of all my tears
And the desert resembles my perched up heart
The sun is but the fire contained in me
And my quiet is a mere column of dust
My heart is like a sea
And like the sea it has a depth
My heart is fashioned like a star
And like Sirius it shines.
But I have my shaft of undesirable habits
I love virtues, but I am a sinner inside
I worship truth, but I am a crook
Outside I look like an enlightened being
But I am full of dust and darkness
Eclipsed by deep rotted ego,
I have lost my lustre through boastful utterance
And have gotten engulfed in darkness.
Yet music is still there in the harp
Though it’s strings broken.
